Creating Wellness with Chronic Illness through mindful living

This is a small, six-week work group for individuals to apply more directly self-management practices with their particular chronic illness diagnosis, with specific focus on lupus and fibromyalgia.  Participation in this workshop begins after the completion of a local Living Well with Chronic Conditions workshops offered throughout Oregon.  These classes are based on the Stanford University patient education program Chronic Disease Self-Management Program.

The Stanford Universitygroup program offers participants a general outline of the many changes, tips and recommendations that apply to all chronic illnesses.  These weekly meetings (for six weeks) are not support groups – they are guided and professionally-led groups that are less focused on dialogue and more on offering you important information that you will need to begin your health management.  A listing of the available Oregonand SW Washingtonworkshopproviders, the schedules and locations and more information of what these workshops are about can be found here.

These mindful wellness living workshops take you from the Living Well series and gets into more detail about living with your unique health challenges. These meetings further reinforce the action plans you started in the Living Well workshops and offers more discussion opportunities in a small group setting with others who are also familiar with the principals and techniques of the class.  The participants may be more comfortable to sign up for our P.O.R.T program to best match the interests and experiences of those who have taken the class, but choose not to attend the workshops.

Required materials and additional resources for this workshop will be made available here once participants have registered for the workshop.
