2010 Winter Warm Houses Event for Oregon HEAT

Here are pictures from the Gingerbread House Event sponsored by River Valley Landing Senior Living, the Tualatin Chamber of Commerce, and Gingerbread Traditions, Inc. held December 4th. The event helped raise approximately $500 for Oregon HEAT, who “…develops and coordinates resources to help low-income Oregonians meet their energy needs and achieve energy self-reliance through energy education and advocacy.” (Source: OR Heat website)

MLWT Guest blogger Sarah Nuxoll (Welcome With Love Family Care) and MLWT Collaborator Christine Martell (VisualsSpeak) offered us their wonderful artistic talents to help create this year’s MLWT entry. It was great fun and inspiring to see the talent out in our community. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event.

Fibromyalgia Awareness Day May 12th!

Lupus Awareness Month~ join in on this special day!

Arthritis Foundation 2012 Walks are scheduled and first one is in Salem on March 5th (this weekend...sorry for the late notice). Visit the Oregon Chapter link below to see the other Oregon dates and register now. These are wonderful events and perfect for the whole family!

A Live Benlysta Educational event will be held at downtown Portland's Avalon Hotel on May 19th. For more information, follow the link below and registration will be listed under the "Location 3" events. There will also be registration at the door beginning at 1 pm. Event begins at 1:30 pm.

On Wednesday, May 16th, from 5:30-6:30pm ET (2:30-3:30 PST), the Hospital For Special Surgery - a very active lupus community resource on the East coast- are hosting a live Facebook chat event for lupus patients on the topic ofmedications. People will have a chance to ask questions on medications to ourrheumatology interdisciplinary team.

The Portland Fibromyalgia/ME/CFS group is hosting a :Retreat for the soul: Self-Care" event during their May 19th meeting time and at the Frida Center off of Sylvan. Registration is open and free~ there will be a variety of presentations and activities, including a group introduction to Wellness Discovery Connections.
