This PFAM edition has special significance for me, a I sit here having just completed my final grad class for the year…decade, if I can help it. I over-committed myself, as I usually do, and today’s topic of rediscovering supportive ways to give ourselves a little boost and pamper is perfect.
This image represents my state of mind at this very moment ~ serene. After working on my paper for the last few days and scrambling to make back-to-back trips for work meetings, I just couldn’t pick up a pen and am struggling to keep my eyes open even as I type this. I just want to melt into my pillow.
I am looking forward to exploring the ideas in our two submissions. I know I wasn’t around to get the word out as much as I should have, so there weren’t may takers. If you still want to jump in, I’ll keep posting submissions here through June. Just visit this link to read the description for the theme.
Jamie Valendy, author of the blog Chronic Migraine Warrior offers us her list and a Wordle that brings all of her self-care gems together nicely. What strikes me is how Jamie mentions not only things to do, but feelings to experience, too. For those moments where travel, naps or being with loved ones can’t happen, thinking about some past experiences to revisit wonderful feelings is a fabulous idea for a little self-care as well. Thanks, Jaime~ your submission really gets to the heart of things. (Click the image to enlarge it)
Phylor, at Phylor’s Blog comes through once again to join in and provides not only another great Wordle of her own, but a little food for thought. I like the idea of viewing self-care as a chance for self-discovery~ tapping into our inner explorers might just be the best route around Wonder Woman standing in the way all the time and start taking care of our own important needs. The image may be small, Phylor, but you packed a punch.
Maybe I’ll come back later tonight and put a Wordle up, too. That is, after I catch up on all the sleep I’ve been missing!
See? Self-care in motion!
Thank you, ladies ~ and thanks to those of you who stopped by today.
